Precision Farming Services

Knowing where inputs are needed and where they are not needed allows for targeted input and nutrient applications and will help to significantly reduce your costs

Helping you make the right decisions for your land and crops throughout the year!

Precision farming involves measuring and responding to variability in a farm’s soils and crop in different parts of the fields throughout the year.

Knowing where inputs are needed and where they are not needed allows for targeted input and nutrient applications and will help to significantly reduce your costs.

📡 Precision Agriculture is a farm management concept that revolves around the process of observing, measuring, and responding to various inter-and intra-field variability inputs for modern agriculture.

🌱 As we continue to develop our understanding of soil health, monocultures look less and less promising to the farming system. Could we adjust crops to allow their use in multi-species farming systems? We could change the construction of plants so they would maintain spatial separation via different canopy heights. So how can plant and soil nutrition contribute? Utilising Drone and satellite imagery can help us map the problematic areas and provide solutions for.

👩‍🌾 Now we are at the forefront of a new revolution guided by precision technologies all around us with the potential to change agriculture into something more sustainable and biological.

💰 It is always important to assess the costs of adopting precision farming techniques against the potential benefits.

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE SFI ACTION

ACTION

Variable rate application of nutrients

DURATION

3 years

ANNUAL PAYMENT

£27 per ha

ACTION’S AIM

Precision farming variable rate technology is used to apply nutrients on arable, horticultural land or improved permanent grassland., to match the nutrient needs of crops for different areas with land parcels.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Manage N,P,K, Ca,Mg and S nutrition using variable rate applications
  • Record nutrient levels and target areas to reduce inputs
  • Evidence using DJL Agriculture will support your SFI application
  • Using drone imagery to help us map problematic fields / areas and also collect / use data

VARIABLE RATE NITROGEN

VARIABLE RATE PHOSPHATE

VARIABLE RATE POTASSIUM
